Closure Statement until further notice - COVID-19

Posted on 16 July, 2021

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, KidsTown Café and Miniature Train are closed until further notice. The public toilets at KidsTown are still available for use.

The COVID-19 outbreak is an unprecedented event in recent history. As part of the national effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Federal Government has placed further restrictions on unnecessary activity.

Evidence from around the world has shown that pre-emptive measures are extremely effective in containing the spread of the disease.

In adhering to this direction, Greater Shepparton City Council will close KidsTown CAFÉ, miniature train and all programs and events until further notice. This will take effect from today, Friday 16 July 2021, until the end of the current circuit breaker restrictions, 11:59pm on Tuesday 20 July 2021 (or as directed by state government directions.)

We do know that PLAY and CONNECTION are fundamental to child development and we encourage you to keep playing with your kids. Please keep an eye on the KidsTown and Get Mooving Greater Shepparton website and social media (Facebook and Instagram) for regular updates.

This period of closure will be re-evaluated and assessed constantly to adapt to the evolving situation and any changes will be communicated on a regular basis.

Our main priority is the health and safety of our patrons, staff and vendors. We will remain ready to reopen as soon as it is advised.

We understand this is a very stressful and uncertain time and we want to encourage you to stay positive, remain calm and look after others.
