The inaugural KidsFest was held in September 2006 and as the years have gone by it has become very popular with the masses. KidsFest 2009 once again proved to be the biggest yet with over 11,200 attended the two annual festival.

This great result was well up on last year's attendance figures by a massive 3600 visitors. The festival proved to be a resounding success with kid's aged from tiny tots through the big kids in mum and dad and grandparents enjoying the great range of free and user pay activities. Survey results indicate that 60% of visitors were from outside the Greater Shepparton area.

KidsFest 2009 and KidsTown gain significant regional and state exposure through extensive television, radio and print promotion in the lead up to the starting date and as a newsworthy event throughout its duration.

It's estimated that the direct economic benefit based on Tourism Victoria's statistics for day visitors to the Murray Region (which includes Greater Shepparton) and local event related expenditure is approximately $775,760.00 which is a great result for the local community and its business.

Each year KidsFest could not run without the great support of over a 150 individuals, volunteers and staff who get involved in putting KidsFest on each year. Volunteers alone this year contributed over 1200 hours of their personal time to the festival.

A BIG BIG thank you has to go out the individuals and sponsors that were involved in this year's KidsFest. With the support of all the Volunteers and Business KidsTown could not put on such a great festival at such a low cost to young families.
