Last year’s inaugural rally saw participants from more than five miniature railway clubs covering three states attend and this year’s event is expected to be even bigger.

KidsTown and Moira Miniature Rail Inc encouraged all people young and old to attend the event.

KidsTown Playground co-ordinator Steve Wilson said event would be great value with something for everyone. ‘‘Bring the family, bring the kids, and don’t forget Nan and Pa,’’ Mr Wilson said.

Train and traction engines will be working along with static displays where there will be opportunity to talk to the owners/builders.

The CFA mobile education unit will be on site including a visit from Captain Koala.

Other activities include jumping castles, bumper boats, merry-go round and aqua water balls.

Sunday’s festivities will include a grand parade of all the trains and traction engines.

KidsTown cafe will be open for snacks and drinks and a number of free to use barbecues will be available if participants wish to bring their own food.

Entry is a gold coin donation and train rides run on the day for a small cost.

‘‘The event is a great one to end the Victorian school holidays in Shepparton,’’ Mr Wilson said.

The Train and Traction Engine Rally will take place on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 from 10 am to 3 pm at SPC Ardmona KidsTown, Midland Hwy, Mooroopna.
