Sprout Edible Garden

KidsTown Community Bush Food and Edible Garden: Sprout

The Kiwanis Club of Shepparton Sunrisers service group have given a new life to the KidsTown community garden. The garden has been planted out with native bush foods and edible plants under a sustainable garden design including informative plant signage from Edible Eden Design. You can learn about all the different plants, what they are and what their uses are.

Educational and interactive signs compliment the garden to promote healthy eating, healthy drinks, the water cycle, healthy sleep and being sun smart, plus giant fruit and mobile B1 and B2 Banana cars add to the colour and fun. The Kiwanis Sunrisers group often hold Mud and Messy Play events with their mud kitchen, sand, pots and pans and painting activities. Look out for these in our Upcoming Events page.

The garden is now open during daylight hours every day.

To find the Community Garden head down past the KidsTown workshop and wooden mazes, past the train mural and fruit mural shipping containers and you’ll see the giant pears and Sprout entry sign above the gate. Please close the gate behind you so that the Kangaroos don’t come in and eat the plants.
